Multicultural Student Advisory & Programming Board

The Multicultural Student Advisory and Programming Board (MSAPB) serves as the bridge between OMSE and students across the Wayne State campus. The MSAPB will work to empower underrepresented groups by creating a space to highlight, acknowledge, and celebrate the board diversity present at WSU. The primary purpose of the MSAPB is to plan, market, and facilitate heritage/culturally-based and identity-based programs for OMSE.

Araja Cherry
 Araja Cherry (she/her)
MSAPB peaked Araja’s interest because she likes the way that students can create spaces within the Wayne State community that grants everyone a sense of  belonging and unity through the events that OMSE holds. Araja is majoring in theatre with a minor in musical theatre. In her free time, she enjoys singing, playing the flute, and spending time withfriends and family.
Alex Freeman (she/her)
Alexandra (Alex) Freeman is a junior double majoring in Global Studies/English. She is super excited to help create new and inclusive events on campus through the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement. In her free time, Alex enjoys reading, running, and arts/crafts.
Mohamed Harb
Mohamed Harb (he/him)
Mohamed Harb is a graduate student at Wayne State University. Mohamed earned a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in Art at Wayne State. He now pursuing a Masters Degree in CMHC + Art Therapy. Mohamed like to draw, paint, crochet, embroider, or do many other things that are creative.
Irkia Polus
Irkia Polus (she/her)
 Irkia is excited about joining the MSAPB because of her passion for bringing groups together and seeing improvements in diversity and inclusion on campus. Her previous involvement in  student government, legal groups, and other national organizations makes her equally thrilled to start projects and contribute to expanding already existing projects in hopes of voicing the opinions of underrepresented groups on campus. Irkia is a Philosophy major and in her free time, she loves reading, running, and spending time with family and friends.
