Multicultural Student Advisory & Programming Board
The Multicultural Student Advisory and Programming Board (MSAPB) serves as the bridge between OMSE and students across the Wayne State campus. The MSAPB will work to empower underrepresented groups by creating a space to highlight, acknowledge, and celebrate the board diversity present at WSU. The primary purpose of the MSAPB is to plan, market, and facilitate heritage/culturally-based and identity-based programs for OMSE.

Meet our 2024 - 2025 MSAPB Team!
Rae Hampton (she/they) Rae is a first-generation college student, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in healthcare ethics. Rae is the founder of My City Eats Detroit and Yogi Co. and has a passion for ending generational stigmas and promoting holistic healing for individuals and communities. Rae is dedicated to creating positive social change and is excited to join OMSE, where she aims to make a meaningful impact by blending her commitment to diversity, inclusion, equality, and social justice with her entrepreneurial drive and community-focused mindset. | |
Jay Mcdowell (he/him) Jay is a sophomore at Wayne State University majoring in Film with a minor in Communication Arts. Previously, he worked at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint, where he supported children from diverse backgrounds and hosted programs for kids of all ages. His past work experience mixed with his love of creativity made him eager to join the MSAPB where he could not only flex his creative muscles, but most importantly create safe and inclusive environments for students across Wayne State. While this is his first semester working on the board, he hopes it is not his last. | |
Irkia Polus (she/her) Irkia is excited about joining the MSAPB because of her passion for bringing groups together and seeing improvements in diversity and inclusion on campus. Her previous involvement in student government, legal groups, and other national organizations makes her equally thrilled to start projects and contribute to expanding already existing projects in hopes of voicing the opinions of underrepresented groups on campus. Irkia is a Philosophy major and in her free time, she loves reading, running, and spending time with family and friends. | |
Emma Terry (she/her) Emma is a junior at Wayne State University, pursuing a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology as part of the honors program. She joined the Multicultural Student Advisory & Programming Board because she knows the importance of implementation of DEI across campus and her love for creating events that celebrate different cultures, heritages, and identities. Since being on the board Emma has partnered with numerous organizations one including Detroit Period Project where she did a university wide menstrual product donation drive. In her free time Emma enjoys reading, watching documentaries, visiting the various museums, and exploring everything that Detroit has to offer. |
