Get engaged

Student Employees are crucial to the functions of our office. If you are interested in working at our office, you can fill out an application and submit it, along with your resume, to Work study required. The Federal Work Study program (FWS) provides funds for part-time employment to help needy students to finance the costs of postsecondary education.

If you are not eligible for work study or simply want to get more involved with the office, we gladly accept volunteers based on our needs. As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to become involved with the inner workings of the office and participate in multicultural programming and events. If you are interested in volunteering for OMSE, please email our Assistant Director, Stephanie Hawkes, at

Students are also encouraged to participate in OMSE events and campaigns, and to utilize our space on the seventh floor of the Student Center, where they can expect to find a quiet study room with spectacular views of the New Center, along with computer workstations and printing services.

Learning Communities

OMSE is also the proud home of two spectacualr learning communities: RISE and The Network. Rise's purpose is to proivde a safe space for students to come together for continued growth and education, and The Network is aimed to support student learning inside the classroom while offering them peer and professional mentoring, and life skills outside of the classroom.
